Nothing, the technology startup founded by Carl Pei, is preparing an environment of high expectation for the launch of its first smartphone: the Nothing Phone (1). The device will be officially revealed in full at an event that will take place on July 12.
The entire industry is awaiting a launch that seeks to differentiate itself from the options of other brands. The presentation event has the name ‘back to instinct‘. Apparently, Nothing intends to offer a mobile device where we are offered everything we need for a great experience, eliminating the excess or ‘useless’ elements and adding our own touches.
In recent weeks we already had some of the key specifications of the terminal. We were also revealed the first images that confirmed how its striking design will look. Now the middle rootmygalaxy reveals more specifications, possible prices, and even a render of the Nothing Phone (1) in black.
Leaked variants and prices of the Nothing Phone (1)
Until now we had only seen the terminal in white. But, the new leak reveals a black color option that looks sleek and understated. The report mentions that the device will come in three capacity variants: 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB.
The post also adds the possible price of the Nothing Phone (1) for India. According to insider sources in the industry, the smartphone will start from INR 31,000 (about $397) for the basic variant. The 8GB + 256GB variant would cost INR 32,000 (about $419). Finally, the top 12GB + 256GB variant would cost INR 36,000 (about $456).
Taking into account the above, it is possible that the international or European version starts from 399 euros. The report also mentions that customers in India will get the device first, while other markets have to wait for the end of July.
More specifications of the Nothing Phone (1)
Finally, we have more technical specifications that give a clearer idea of what the Nothing Phone (1) will offer. It will feature a 6.55-inch OLED screen with Full HD+ resolution at 120 Hz. Internally, it will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+ chipset. Its hardware will be completed with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM (with virtual expansion).
A maximum of 256 GB of storage in UFS 3.1 format will be available. You’ll get power from a 4,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging and wireless charging. It will run Android 12 under the Nothing OS interface.
The camera section will be one of the highlights, even having ‘only’ two sensors. There is a 50 MP main sensor (unknown model) stabilized by OIS and a secondary 16 MP sensor (probably ultra wide). Its front camera will be 16MP.
Other features will include an in-display fingerprint reader, 5W reverse wireless charging, and Dolby Atmos-certified stereo speakers.
Basically, the Nothing Phone (1) offers a very complete multimedia package which lacks practically nothing to offer a round experience on paper. We will have to wait until we have it in our hands to see if it manages to achieve it.
