Honor, the brand born from Huawei but now working independently, has scheduled a launch event. The conference will take place on September 15, and it is expected that during it we will meet the Honor X40 5G, a new smartphone aimed at the mid-range segment.

The source of the leak is the Digital Chat Station informant through his Weibo account. In his post, he revealed the detailed specifications of the upcoming Honor X40 5G. According to the tipster, the new Honor phone will hit the market with a 6.67-inch OLED screen that will offer a resolution of 2,400 × 1,080 pixels.




The panel in question will support a refresh rate of 120 Hz. A centered hole will be home to its front camera sensor. It will also support 10-bit color depth and high-frequency PWM dimming for eye protection.

Furthermore, the tipster claims that the Honor X40 5G will have a dual rear camera setup. The photographic system will be composed of a 50-megapixel main sensor accompanied by a 2-megapixel unit. On the front, it is said to have an 8-megapixel front-facing camera sensor for selfies and video calls.

Internally, the Honor X40 5G is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G processor. Its hardware would come complete with 6GB/8GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of built-in storage, depending on the configuration.

The terminal will have a 5,100 mAh battery and will support 40W fast charging technology through its USB-C port. The body of the smartphone will have dimensions of 161.6 × 73.9 × 7.9 mm and a weight of 172 grams. Regarding the software, it will run Android 12 under the Magic UI 6.1 interface.
